This NAA "Belt Buckle" holster is a fairly novel way to carry the tiny NAA 22LR Mini-Revolver (1 1/8" barrel version only). Right up front, I highly advise that you know the laws in your area concerning carrying one this way, even if it is unloaded, since open and concealed carry rules vary greatly state to state (and even town to town). Here are my observations:Kit Includes:
* Belt Buckle
* Aluminum Grips
* Replacement Screw
Installation:
The whole process took less than five minutes and really couldn't be easier!
- Option One, as shown in the product picture
1) Remove standard grips with a small screw driver
2) Add new grips using Replacement Screw
- Option Two, to show the standard wood grip (see my picture in "Customer Images")
1) Remove standard grips with a small screw driver
2) Add new left Aluminum Grip (the one with the groves, see my picture in "Customer Images") and the original right grip with the original standard screw (the Replacement Screw will not fit)
Using the Holster:
1) Insert barrel end first so the little nub in the front of the cavity slips into the barrel
2) Press the grip end into the cavity until it "clicks" in place (ensure it is firmly locked)
3) Pressing the "Release Stud" will eject the revolver (works one handed)
Pros:
+ Novel Carry Option; this allows a for easier access than carrying in pocket or waist holster, especially while driving
+ Good Looking; can easily pass as purely ornamental
+ Secure; holds tightly and impossible to accidentally discharge while properly seated
Cons:
- BIG; weighs half a pound (8.1 oz) fully loaded and measures 4.75" Long by 3" high
- Minor Quality Issues; the Replacement Grip Screw sticks out a little past the left side grip and the plating around the cavity edge is a little rough in one place - neither issue affects performance or even appearance
- Release Stud; fairly loose and rattles a bit, seems be by design since there is no way to tighten it
Misc:
* Right Handed Carry; this positions the revolver for ejection into the right hand
I really like this a lot and being somewhat on the larger side, the size and weight of it is not an issue for me. I also tend to wear it with a pullover shirt covering it (I have a CCW permit), so am not concerned with it drawing attention.
Recommended, with the above caveats!
