Bandana - Paisley Bandana Pattern - Wholesale 12-packs (Maroon Paisley) Review

I like the color orange. I really do. So I go hunting periodically for orange stuff. I found these and went, "AWESOME! Orange bandanas! What's not to like!" So I did what I always do when I find stuff that is orange - I bought a bunch of them.

Unfortunately over the past year, I've found these profoundly disappointing to the point where the fact that they're orange doesn't make up for the fact that they suck as bandanas.

They're orange, yes, and they have a smooth feel to them, but I use my bandanas as sweat collectors and handkerchiefs. These feel like they're almost all poly/cotton and don't have much absorbency to them. For a fashion statement they're probably okay, but I wound up using them more as grease rags in the garage than anything else.

If you're just going for something lightweight as a fashion statement, go for it. However, I'd really go for something sized larger than this by about 2 inches all around, with a heavier thread count and 100% cotton.

After using these in the garage as wipe rags, I can also say they don't function well for that, either. The best purpose I've found so far is to use them as impromptu dust masks - the cotton/poly blend and thinner thread count allows you to breathe through them without getting them wet.

But again, a bandana is supposed to be a multipurpose thing. I use them for:

-workout headrags
-head protection while working in dusty/dirty areas
-sunblock protection on hikes
-handkerchiefs
-snotrags
-emergency spill response
-bandages / tourniquets
-cleaning rags
-impromptu dust filters

And in all of these applications these bandanas just don't work, except for the last one. Even using them as a sunblock protection, I got color at the skin on the top of my head, and the sweat didn't stay IN the bandana. I would have been better off smearing SPF 60 over my noggin and wiping my forehead on my shirt for all the good it did.

That said, it's the FABRIC content that is the problem here, not the manufacture or the pattern. The fabric blend just sucks for a bandana - it might work great for something else, but not this.
